Modash and HypeAuditor are both research-led influencer platforms, and the clearest difference is that one of them will tell you the price. Modash publishes $299 a month for Essentials and $599 for Performance, dropping to $199 and $499 if you prepay a year, with Enterprise from $14,700 a year and a 14-day free trial that needs no card. HypeAuditor publishes no pricing at all: its pricing page is a demo-booking form, though a limited free account is offered. On database size HypeAuditor is the more selective claim at 227.1M+ creators against Modash's 380M+ profiles. Pick Modash if you want to start searching this afternoon on a known budget. Pick HypeAuditor if audience-quality depth, competitor benchmarking or an API matter more than seeing the price first.

Every figure below was checked against each vendor's own pricing page on 19 August 2026. That matters more than usual in this category, because the two most widely repeated numbers about these platforms are both wrong, and we will show you exactly where they come from.

How much does Modash cost?

Modash publishes a full price list, and it is the rare vendor here that lets you see every limit before you talk to anyone. There is one trap. Almost every roundup quotes Modash at $199 and $499 a month. Those are the rates you get only if you pay for a full year up front. Month to month, the same plans are $299 and $599. Budget from the discounted figure and you will be 50 percent short. Every published limit and fee threshold is laid out in our Modash pricing breakdown.

PlanMonthlyPaid yearlyTeamCreators
Essentials$299$2,388, about $199/mo2 membersUp to 100
Performance$599$5,988, about $499/mo5 membersUp to 250
EnterpriseCustomFrom $14,700/yrMoreAbove 250

Beyond the headline, Modash meters four things of its own: team members, opened profiles, unlocked creator emails and tracked creators' content. Essentials gives you 300 opened profiles, 150 unlocked emails and 100 tracked creators a month. Performance roughly doubles or triples each, at 800 opened profiles, 400 unlocked emails and 250 tracked creators. Its Discover index is advertised at 380M+ profiles, and both published tiers start with a 14-day free trial and no credit card.

The line that decides the tier for most brands is creator payments. Paying creators and running affiliate links are included from Performance upward, at 0% fee on the first $10,000 a year across payments and affiliates combined, then 5% above that. Enterprise raises the threshold to $100,000 a year. On Essentials, payment is not part of the plan at all. So if you want to find creators and pay them in the same tool, the real Modash entry price is $599 a month, not $299.

How much does HypeAuditor cost?

It does not say. We opened hypeauditor.com/pricing on 19 August 2026 and there is no figure anywhere on the page. What is there is a form headed "See HypeAuditor in action", a Request demo button, and a Talk to sales link in the footer. The paid product is sold through a conversation.

There is a real free entry point, and it is more generous than most demo-gated vendors offer: the same page invites you to get started for free with free media plans, campaign management, and demo versions of other features. Separately, HypeAuditor publishes free tools that need no account at all, including engagement rate calculators, audit tools and fake follower checkers for Instagram, TikTok and YouTube. Those free checkers are probably how most marketers have encountered the brand.

You will find confident HypeAuditor prices quoted elsewhere, often to the dollar. Treat them carefully. The figures disagree with each other across sources, and a striking number of them appear on the blogs of platforms that sell against HypeAuditor and have an interest in the number looking high. We are in that position too, which is exactly why we will not print one. If you see a specific price, check whether the source is HypeAuditor itself. On this page and on our HypeAuditor alternative comparison we only publish what a vendor publishes.

Which has the bigger creator database?

On the published claims, Modash: 380M+ profiles against HypeAuditor's 227.1M+ creators. Before that decides anything, be skeptical of index size as a buying criterion, including when we quote it.

These counts measure indexed accounts, not useful ones. A database of 380 million profiles includes dormant accounts, duplicates, accounts in countries you will never ship to, and a very long tail of people with 200 followers who have never worked with a brand. What actually determines whether a tool solves your discovery problem is coverage in your specific niche, at your follower range, in the US, with a contactable email. Two vendors can differ by 150 million rows and return near-identical shortlists for US skincare creators between 10k and 50k followers with engagement above 3 percent.

The practical test costs nothing: run the same search on both trials and compare the first fifty results. If one returns creators you already know and the other returns accounts that look inactive, that tells you more than either headline number. This is the same advice we give on our roundup of the best influencer marketing platforms, where the database claims run from 700,000 to 380 million and correlate poorly with price.

Which is better for finding micro influencers?

They approach it from different ends. Modash lets you filter a very large index down, which suits you if you want to cast wide and are comfortable reading through results. HypeAuditor is stronger once you have candidates: its audience-quality reporting is the most established fraud analysis in the category, and for the micro and nano band that matters more than it does higher up, because a 12,000-follower account with bought followers is much harder to spot by eye than a fake celebrity.

Both leave you with the same job at the end, though: a list. Vetting still runs account by account, and the shortlist still has to become a campaign. If you want that screening applied before you ever see the list, our page on how to find micro influencers covers how the ranked-shortlist approach differs, and the fake follower check page explains what we screen for.

Do either of them run the campaign for you?

Partly, and this is the honest gap in both products. Modash gives you campaign tracking, an influencer CRM, gifting through Shopify and, from Performance, payments and affiliate management. HypeAuditor gives you campaign management, outreach, media plans and a professional services team you can pay to run programs. Neither is only an analytics tool any more.

What neither removes is the middle of the work. Someone still writes each brief, states the disclosure requirements, chases the draft, requests the revision, checks the post went live with the #ad label, and gets the creator paid. Across five creators that is an afternoon. Across forty it is somebody's job. Teams routinely buy a $599 subscription to fix a discovery problem and then discover the actual bottleneck was coordination, which no database solves.

It is worth deciding which problem you have before you buy either. If your shortlist is fine and your week disappears into follow-ups, a research platform will not give the week back. If you genuinely cannot find creators in your niche, it will. And if the harder part is knowing what to ask creators to make in the first place, that is a creative problem rather than a data one, and it is usually faster to work up a batch of concepts worth briefing than to filter another thousand profiles.

Is HypeAuditor better than Modash?

Neither is better outright, and the choice splits cleanly on one question: do you need to know the price before you commit? Modash publishes everything and lets you trial it in an afternoon. HypeAuditor offers more product surface, particularly audience-quality depth, competitor and market analysis, an API and a managed services team, but you cannot buy the paid tiers without a sales conversation. Small teams usually want the first. Agencies standardizing across client accounts often prefer the second.

Which is cheaper, Modash or HypeAuditor?

Modash is the only one of the two with a knowable answer, at $299 a month month to month or $2,388 a year prepaid. HypeAuditor's paid cost cannot be compared because it is not published, and any figure you find is a third-party estimate rather than a vendor statement. If a predictable, verifiable software line is what you need, that asymmetry is itself the answer: you can budget Modash today and you cannot budget HypeAuditor without booking a call.

Does Modash have a free trial?

Yes. Modash offers a 14-day free trial with no credit card required on both published tiers, and its site states you get access to platform features with usage limits during the trial, including tracking a small number of creators in campaigns. There is no permanent free tier, so the trial is a genuine test window rather than an ongoing free plan.

Does HypeAuditor have a free version?

Yes, in two forms. Its pricing page offers a free account described as free media plans, campaign management and demo versions of other features. It also publishes free public tools that need no account: engagement rate calculators, audit tools and fake follower checkers for Instagram, TikTok and YouTube. The full paid platform is separate and still requires a demo.

What are the best Modash and HypeAuditor alternatives?

It depends which constraint you hit. If the blocker is the demo gate on HypeAuditor, Modash is the obvious swap because it publishes everything, and our Modash alternative page covers where that large index earns its money and where it does not. If you want a full campaign workflow with self-serve pricing, GRIN publishes tiers from a free plan to $1,500 a month, compared in detail in GRIN vs Modash. If you are weighing a research database against a demo-gated all-in-one, Modash vs Upfluence is the closer read.

And if the real problem is that both of these tools hand you a list and leave the campaign with you, that is the gap MicroInfluencers is built for. You describe your brand and niche, get a ranked shortlist of micro and nano creators from 1,000 to 100,000 followers that has already been fake-follower-checked and engagement-verified, then brief, approve, track and pay every creator in one place. Plans are published at $49, $149 and $399 a month, plus a small marketplace fee on creator payouts, there is no annual contract, and creators are paid the cash rate they agreed with no markup on it.
