How MicroInfluencers, the two-sided marketplace where brands match with authentic micro-influencers and creators find paid brand deals, collects, uses and protects brand and creator information. Last updated: June 2026.
The short version
MicroInfluencers connects brands with authentic micro-influencers. Brands describe a campaign and receive an AI-matched, engagement-verified shortlist, then brief, approve, track and pay creators. Creators join free and keep the rate they agree with the brand. We collect only the data needed to run the marketplace and operate this site, we protect it with encryption, and we never sell it. We do not allow fake followers, bought followers or impersonation.
Who this applies to
This policy covers two kinds of people: brands (and their team members) who sign up to find and hire creators, and creators who join to get matched to paid brand deals. Where a section applies to only one side, we say so.
What data we collect
- Brand and campaign data. The brand name, the niche, target audience, platforms, budget and the campaign briefs you create, along with how you rate and approve creators and content.
- Creator profile data. Information creators provide or connect, such as name, the social accounts and niche, public audience and engagement metrics used for matching and verification, and payout details needed to pay you.
- Account data. The work email and account details of the brand, agency or creator that signs up and uses the marketplace.
- Transaction data. Records of deals, agreed rates, approvals and payouts, processed through our payment provider. We do not store full card numbers.
- Site and usage data. When you visit microinfluencers.io, sign up or contact us, we collect the email you submit, aggregate analytics about how the site is used, and standard log data such as IP address, browser type and the page or campaign you arrived from, used for security and to understand traffic sources. We use a short verification code to confirm your email.
The interactive demo on this website runs on sample data in your browser. It does not match a real creator and nothing you type into it is uploaded.
How we use information
- To match brands with creators who fit the niche, audience and budget, and to rank shortlists by audience fit and real engagement.
- To verify creators for authentic engagement and to check for fake or bought followers, so brands pay for reach that exists.
- To run campaigns, including briefs, content approvals, tracking, and processing creator payouts.
- To set up and operate accounts, verify email addresses and respond to questions.
- To understand, in aggregate, how the product and site are used so we can improve them.
- To protect the marketplace from abuse, fraud, fake accounts and security threats.
We do not sell brand or creator data, and we do not use it for anything outside operating the marketplace.
Authenticity and no fake followers
Authenticity is central to how this marketplace works. We use public metrics and engagement signals to verify creators and to detect fake or bought followers and inauthentic engagement. Creators who buy followers, run engagement bots or misrepresent their audience may be removed. We do not scrape data we are not permitted to use, and we do not allow impersonation of other people or brands.
Content rights and approval
Creators keep ownership of the content they make unless a specific brief grants the brand a license, in which case the brief and the agreement between the brand and the creator set out those rights. Brands review and approve content before it goes live. Each brand and creator is responsible for honoring the licensing and usage terms agreed in a brief.
FTC disclosure responsibility
Sponsored content must be clearly disclosed. We build #ad and #sponsored disclosure into briefs to make compliance easy, but the creator posting the content and the brand sponsoring it remain responsible for following the FTC's endorsement guides and any other applicable advertising and disclosure laws.
Payments and payouts
Brands pay a flat subscription fee to use the marketplace, and pay creators the rate agreed in each deal. Creators keep their agreed rate, less standard payment processing. We use a third-party payment processor to handle transactions and payouts, and we share with them only the data needed to process a payment. Payout and tax details are handled securely and used only to pay creators and meet legal obligations.
Data retention
Campaign records, briefs, approvals and transaction history are retained for as long as needed to operate accounts, support both sides of a deal, and meet legal, tax and security obligations, then deleted or anonymized. Contact details submitted on this site are kept for as long as needed to operate accounts. Brands and creators can request deletion of data they submitted, and we will honor it unless we are required to retain it.
Security and encryption
Brand, creator and payout data is sensitive, so security is a first-class concern. We encrypt data in transit and at rest, apply least-privilege access, and limit who can view marketplace data to those who need it. We keep this public website separate from production marketplace workflows. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your data safe and to collect as little of it as possible. We do not claim any certification or status we do not hold.
How we share information
We do not sell personal information. When a brand and a creator enter a deal, we share the information each side needs to run it, such as the brief, deliverables, agreed rate and the contact and payout details required to complete and pay for the work. We share data with service providers, such as our hosting, payment, email delivery and analytics providers, only to the extent they need it to perform their function. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights and our users.
Your rights
Brands and creators may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the data they submitted, and may opt out of non-essential email at any time. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights over your personal data. To exercise any of these, email us and we will help.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product and site evolve. When we make material changes we will update the date at the top and, where appropriate, notify you. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
