Influencer email list: build an influencer contact list and find creator email addresses

The short answer

An influencer email list is a set of creator contact addresses a brand uses for outreach, and there are four ways to get one: buy a compiled list from a data vendor, unlock addresses inside an influencer database, collect them by hand from bios and media kits, or work from a marketplace where creators opted in to hear from brands. Emailing a US creator you have no relationship with is legal under the CAN-SPAM Act, which is an opt-out regime rather than an opt-in one, but the FTC puts each non-compliant email at up to $53,088. The number that decides whether a list is worth having is not how many rows it has, it is what share of them reply. MicroInfluencers skips the list step entirely by matching you with engagement-verified creators who already joined to find paid brand deals, from $49 a month.

Somewhere in the last few years "influencer email list" turned into a shopping query. Vendors sell them by the record, aggregators publish them as downloadable directories, and every influencer database advertises how many addresses it can unlock. The pitch is always volume: fifty thousand creator emails, updated last month, yours today.

Volume is the wrong axis. A list of 50,000 creator addresses that returns four replies is worse than a list of 60 that returns twelve, because the first one also cost you deliverability. Cold email to stale addresses generates hard bounces and spam complaints, and mailbox providers score your sending domain on exactly those two signals. Brands who buy a big list and mail it in one weekend often spend the next quarter wondering why their normal marketing email stopped landing in inboxes.

The useful way to think about this is that there is no single influencer email list. There are four different routes to a creator's address, they differ in cost, in legality, in how warm the recipient is, and in how well they scale, and most teams end up using two of them at once. This page lays out all four honestly, including the ones we do not sell.

MicroInfluencers is the fourth route. Rather than handing you addresses to cold-email, it matches your brand with micro and nano creators from 1k to 100k followers who are already on the platform looking for paid work, every one of them fake-follower-checked and engagement-verified. You send a brief they can accept, not a pitch they can ignore. Published pricing starts at $49 a month with no contract.

Why it works

Why reply rate beats list size every time

An address is not an interest

A public email in a creator bio tells you where to send a message. It tells you nothing about whether that creator wants brand mail, works in your category, or has ever answered one. Those are different facts and only the last one predicts a reply.

Bounces are billed to your domain

Compiled lists decay fast because creators change handles, agencies, and inboxes. Every dead address is a hard bounce, and enough of them will push your legitimate marketing email into spam folders for months.

Opt-in creators answer

Creators who joined a platform specifically to find paid brand deals are reading their notifications on purpose. That single difference does more for reply rate than any subject line test you will ever run.

What it handles

Matched, verified and shortlisted in seconds

Describe your brand and niche, and the AI scans creators in the 1k to 100k band, checks each one for fake followers and real engagement, and ranks the strongest matches into a shortlist you brief, approve and pay, all in one place.

  • Replaces cold list-buying with matching against creators who opted in to hear from brands
  • Screens every creator for bought followers and verifies engagement before they reach your shortlist
  • Turns outreach into a brief a creator can accept, so a yes becomes a live campaign instead of another thread
  • Keeps every creator conversation, brief and deadline in one place rather than in a spreadsheet of addresses
  • Builds FTC #ad disclosure into every brief from the start

Honest comparison

Four ways to get influencer email addresses, and what each one really costs

These routes are not competing versions of the same product. They differ in who consented to what, and that is the variable that decides your reply rate, your deliverability and your legal exposure. Prices checked 26 August 2026.

Route Where the address comes from Did the creator agree to hear from brands What it costs What usually goes wrong
Opt-in marketplace Creators who joined a platform to find paid brand deals Yes, explicitly, and that is the whole point A subscription. MicroInfluencers publishes $49, $149 and $399 a month A curated pool is smaller than a 380-million-row index, so niche coverage matters more than raw scale
Influencer database with email unlocks Addresses creators list publicly on their own profiles, surfaced by the tool No. The address is public, the interest is not Modash Essentials unlocks 150 emails a month at $299 month to month, or $2,388 paid yearly Unlock caps run out faster than expected, and a public address is still a cold one
Bought or compiled contact list Third-party data vendors who assemble addresses in bulk No, and frequently the creator does not know the list exists Sold per record or per list, commonly a few hundred dollars and up Stale rows, hard bounces and spam complaints that follow your sending domain around for months
Manual sourcing, one creator at a time The bio, the link in bio, a media kit, or a DM asking where to send a brief Sometimes, because asking is itself the first contact Your team's hours, which is the most expensive column here at any real volume Stops scaling somewhere around thirty creators, and the research evaporates if nobody logs it

One legal point that gets repeated wrongly in this niche. Cold-emailing a US creator without prior permission is not illegal: the CAN-SPAM Act is an opt-out regime, and the FTC states plainly that you do not need consent before sending commercial email. What the law does require is eight specific things, including accurate header information, a subject line that matches the message, a clear disclosure that the message is an ad, your valid physical postal address, and a working opt-out that you honor within 10 business days and keep live for at least 30 days after sending. The FTC prices each separate non-compliant email at up to $53,088. Note also that this is US law. Creators in the EU, the UK and Canada sit under GDPR, PECR and CASL, which are consent-first and much stricter. This describes published guidance and is not legal advice.

The process

How to build an influencer contact list that gets replies

Five steps, in this order. Most teams start at step four, which is why their open rates look fine and their reply rates do not.

Write the buyer sentence before you collect a single address

One sentence describing who you want to buy this, in words they would use about themselves. "Home cooks in their thirties who are cutting ultra-processed food" is usable. "Food influencers" is not, and a list built on the second sentence will be large, cheap and useless. Every filter you apply later is only as good as this line, and it takes about four minutes to write.

Qualify before you collect, not after

The instinct is to gather two thousand addresses and then sort them. Reverse it. Check median engagement, whether the audience is real, and whether the creator has ever talked about your category unpaid, and only then keep the address. A list of 80 qualified creators is faster to build than it sounds and it converts at a rate that makes the 2,000-row version look like a rounding error.

Record why each creator is on the list

Next to every address, keep one line on why they fit: the audience overlap, the post that made you notice them, the rate band you expect. This is the difference between a contact list and a spreadsheet of strangers. It also makes personalization possible at volume, and personalization is the only lever in cold outreach that reliably moves reply rates.

Sample language

[email protected] | 14.2k IG, food and batch cooking, median 1,900 views, engagement 4.8% verified, mentioned our category unpaid in June, expect $150 to $250 per Reel, angle: weeknight cooking without additives

Send email that complies and reads like a person wrote it

Meet the CAN-SPAM requirements on every send: real sender details, an honest subject line, a clear indication that it is a commercial approach, your postal address, and a working unsubscribe. Then write like a human. Name the specific post, say what you want, name a rate band or say you are asking for theirs, and give a deadline. Creators skip anything that opens with a paragraph about your brand story.

Prune the list every quarter and stop mailing non-responders

Addresses go stale, creators change agencies, and a contact who ignored three approaches is telling you something. Drop hard bounces immediately, retire anyone who has not answered three well-targeted messages, and keep the ones who replied even when they said no, because a no this quarter is often a yes when the product changes. A list that shrinks on purpose stays deliverable.

Worth planning for at the start rather than in January: if you pay a US creator $2,000 or more during a calendar year, you generally have a Form 1099-NEC obligation. That threshold rose from $600 to $2,000 for payments made on or after 1 January 2026, and the IRS instructions now read "paid at least $2,000". Payments made by card or through a third-party settlement organization are reported on Form 1099-K under section 6050W instead. Collecting a W-9 when you agree the first deal is far easier than chasing one eleven months later.

People also ask

What brands ask about influencer email lists

How do I find an influencer's email address?

Check the Instagram or TikTok bio first, then the link in bio, then any media kit or personal site, since most working creators publish a business address on purpose. If none of those show one, send a short DM asking where to send a paid brief. Influencer databases can surface publicly listed addresses in bulk, which saves time but does not make the contact any warmer.

Can I buy an influencer email list?

Yes, several data vendors sell compiled creator contact lists per record or per list. Whether you should is a different question. Bought lists are assembled without the creator knowing, they decay quickly as people change inboxes and agencies, and mailing a large stale list in one batch generates the bounce and complaint rates that get a sending domain filtered. Most brands that try it once do not do it twice.

How much does an influencer email list cost?

It depends entirely on the route. Compiled lists from data vendors are priced per record or per bundle, commonly from a few hundred dollars. Databases charge a subscription with an unlock cap, for example Modash Essentials at $299 a month or $2,388 paid yearly for 150 unlocked emails a month. An opt-in marketplace charges a flat subscription instead, with MicroInfluencers publishing $49, $149 and $399 a month.

Is it legal to email influencers without their permission?

In the United States, yes. The CAN-SPAM Act does not require prior consent, and the FTC says directly that you do not need permission before sending commercial email. You do have to follow its rules: honest headers and subject lines, a clear disclosure that the message is an advertisement, your valid postal address, and an opt-out you honor within 10 business days. Each violating email carries a penalty of up to $53,088.

What is an influencer contact list?

A working record of creators you might hire, holding each one's email address plus the context that makes outreach worth sending: platform, follower band, niche, verified engagement, expected rate, and why they fit your buyer. The contact detail is the least valuable column. A list without the context behind it is a mailing list, and mailing lists are what creators have learned to ignore.

How do I get influencer email addresses on Instagram?

Instagram business and creator accounts can display a contact button that reveals a business email, so open the profile and check there before anything else. Many creators instead route contact through their link in bio, a Linktree page, or a media kit PDF. If neither exists, a short direct message asking for the right address for a paid collaboration works, and it doubles as a soft first touch.

How many influencers should I email?

Enough to get eight to ten live collaborations, which for a well-qualified list usually means contacting 40 to 80 creators, and for a bought list can mean several thousand. That gap is the entire argument for qualifying before you collect. Batch your first campaign at a size where you can still personalize every message, then scale the version that got answers.

What is a good reply rate for influencer outreach?

Treat any single benchmark you read as marketing rather than data, because almost none of them are sourced. What is reliably true is the ranking: creators who opted in to receive brand offers reply most, hand-sourced and personalized approaches come next, publicly listed addresses pulled from a database come third, and bought lists come last by a wide margin. Measure your own baseline before optimizing anything.

Should I use email or DMs to contact micro influencers?

Email for anything involving money, because it creates a written record of the deliverable, the fee and the deadline, and it survives an inbox change. DMs are better for the first touch with smaller creators who do not publish a business address, and for the quick question that would otherwise take a day. A common pattern is a short DM to open, then move the terms to email.

Good questions

Questions about influencer email list

No, and that is deliberate rather than a missing feature. Creators join because brands contact them through briefs they can accept or decline, not because their address gets exported into someone's cold email tool. So there is no bulk email export and no contact-data API. If an exportable list of addresses is genuinely the job you need done, an influencer database like Modash or HypeAuditor is the honest recommendation, and you should buy that instead of this.
You describe your brand, category and the buyer you want, and the AI returns a ranked shortlist of engagement-verified micro and nano creators whose audience matches. You send those creators a brief with the deliverable, the rate and the deadline in it, and they accept or decline inside the platform. The practical difference is that you are not guessing whether the address is live or whether the creator takes brand work, because both are already true.
